Blog on Educational Technology

Thanks again to Sue, Shelley and Jeff for sharing. The title of this post is linked to a blog run through eSchool News and hosted by the principal of the Merriweather Lewis School in Portland, Oregon that I emailed everyone about earlier. He has some interesting tips on programs and add-ons to use with your blog. You may need to register with eSchool news to access it - it's free.

Blogging across districts

I wonder if 2 8th grade classes in different districts, studying the same book/event, etc. could blog "together".

Thanks

Thanks for doing this

Blogging under 7

Part of my job is working @ Davis Primary School in Bedford. I have started several blogs there for first and second grade teachers and have helped them post finished student work on them. Students wrote typing into AlphaSmarts and then transfered their work directly into an open post the teacher had ready for them. They took their own photographs using PalmPilots and Mavica cameras. The photos were loaded by a teacher. Recently, two Kindergarten teachers have decided to collaborate with K classrooms in Cambridge and possibly in Newton. They may also include the use of Skype.
Click on the title for a link to my Trackstar that lists all these blogs that were used, or will be used by kids under seven years old and their teachers.

its a beginning

Our next meeting will feature blogs. So I decided to start one for us to use. Please post here ideas and projects you'd like to share with our EDCO group. And welcome!
